Camille Pissarro (1830 – 1903) was a Danish Impressionist painter born in the Danish West Indies into a family of "Portuguese Jewish descent."He traveled to Europe, working in both Paris and London. His importance resides in both his visual contributions to Impressionism and to Post-Impressionism as well. He is considered a "father figure not only to the Impressionists," but to all four of the major Post-Impressionists, including Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. (Wikipedia.org)
